简介： 1944年冬，日军南北夹击，粤北坪石镇已成危巢，广州沦陷后辗转迁至坪石的国立中山大学面临再次迁校。数天系主任黄际遇（谢君豪饰）年近花甲，再逢动荡，他坚持保护学生，坚信有青年才有未来。偶遇香港天才考生邱扬（颜秋越饰），黄际遇珍惜爱护，多方启迪。国难当头，邱扬热血入伍被骗，黄际遇竭力营救。邱扬觉悟，明白报国不仅只有慷慨捐躯，知识救国亦是大道。日军日渐逼近，各院系分散迁徙。黄际遇安排数天系师生撤离，但邱扬却留了下来，两人在最后一刻将图书馆长杜定友（蒋中炜饰）和部分图书送上最后一班火车。1945年1月17日，坪石沦陷，迁校竟成大逃亡，未及撤离的卫梓松（王宏伟饰）教授为国殉难。七个月后，日本投降，黄际遇为女儿（叶语霏饰）举行婚礼，家国同庆。师生结伴返校途中，舟次清远，黄际遇不幸堕水罹难。
